October Film Marathon – Day Twenty Six: Don’t Look Now (1973)

Welcome to my October Film Marathon. Each day I will be watching a Halloween/Autumnal themed film and will be posting a review.

Today is the 26th of October and I will be reviewing one of my all time favourite films, Don’t Look Now!

Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie give haunting performances in this supernatural story that stays with you long after you watch it. Still grieving over the accidental death of their daughter, Christine, John and Laura Baxter head to Venice, Italy, where John’s been commissioned to restore a church. There Laura meets two sisters who claim to be in touch with the spirit of the Baxters’ daughter. Laura takes them seriously, but John scoffs until he himself catches a glimpse of what looks like Christine running through the streets of Venice. This film is beautiful to behold.
